Smith Tea Unboxing

If you have been following my blog, you may know I plan to open a tea room called SCONE, offering the British-style Afternoon Tea experience.  What makes this new venture even more exciting is I will be featuring whole leaf Smith Tea to my customers.  I discovered Smith Tea, a Portland, Oregon based company about five years ago.  I initially purchased the British Brunch sachets because my favorite tea is English Breakfast.  Eventually, I changed to loose tea after I received my first Brown Betty teapot for Christmas.  While I do enjoy other tea brands, I love the smooth and well-balanced flavor I can always find in British Brunch.  So, I decided to reach out to Smith Tea to become one of their wholesale customers.  I received a very warm welcome to the Smith Tea family, and they offered to send me samples of teas I may want to include on my tea room menu.  The day has arrived and I’m here to share the unboxing with you!

After I opened the box, I was greeted with a friendly card with a catalog and all the wonderful tea goodies!

It was so exciting to see all the wonderful teas!

The cotton bag was filled with organic wellness teas, a green tea and a chai.  No. 60: Dandy Detox, No. 15: Soothe Sayer, No. 54: Golden Light, No. 4: Empower Mint, No. 40: Lullaby, No. 98: Tropical Green, No. 33: Masala Chai.

The Smith Variety box contains 12 sachets that include black, green, and herbal infusion teas.  No. 18: British Brunch, No. 39: Fez, No. 67: Meadow, No. 1851: Portland Breakfast, No. 96: Jasmine Silver Tip, No. 24: Big Hibiscus, No. 55: Lord Bergamot, No. 1912: Rose City Genmaicha, No. 13: Red Nectar, No. 14: Black Lavender, No. 8: Spring Greens, No. 45: Peppermint Leaves.

Because I plan to offer an iced tea at the tea room during the warmer months, I can’t wait to try these flavors, some of which are seasonal.  No. 81: Pineapple Green, No. 46; Exceptional, No. 93: Mediterranean Mint, No. 35: Ginger Peach, No. 42: Hibiscus Mango.

I love a hot chai latte, so I am super excited to try this concentrate and offer it in the tea room.  You can also make chai latte without the concentrate, using their Masala Chai tea sachets or loose tea.

This is everything I received, including additional iced tea flavors.  No. 76: Blackberry Jasmine, Hibiscus Punch, Moroccan Mint, Sweet Peach Black, Classic Black, and Tropical Green.

I can’t wait to try all these wonderful teas, but you will have to come to the tea room to see which ones I selected.  I will post more updates leading up to the grand opening later this year. If you are interested in Smith Tea or would like more information on their products, you can find them here. Cheers!
