A Wedding to Remember

This past weekend we traveled north to attend our nephew’s wedding.  It was the perfect weekend from start to finish.  The weather was beautiful, the food was amazing and the time spent with family was priceless.

Because the wedding was late afternoon, we enjoyed a beautiful brunch at a local cafe.  They specialize in bagels and fresh doughnuts.  Eating outside with a cup of hot tea was a wonderful way to start the day. And yes, my husband so thoughtfully pointed out I left my teabag and stir stick in my cup before I took this photo. The Barista added too much milk to my cup so I needed to steep the tea a bit longer. (Where are the emojis when you need one?)

My daughter loves vintage clothing shops and we discovered a great one!

Of course, we had to browse the antique shops, too!

The wedding was held at a newly established vineyard and everyone gathered on the patio before the ceremony.

Then, we walked to the wedding site.  There was a small string orchestra off to the side that serenaded guests to their seats.

The beautiful bride arrived in a vintage convertible Mercedes, driven by her father.

My daughter had to take a closer look at the little red beauty.

The “barn” was decorated for the wedding reception.  This was the bride and groom’s table.

My son looked around for our seats.

It was so lovely to be apart of this intimate occasion.  We were able to catch up with people we hadn’t seen for ages and met new faces that are now members of the family.  And the food! The food and drink were delicious. My usually finicky family enjoyed the champagne and wine as well as the appetizers, main meal and the many little desserts. Note to myself: Fresh, warm mini churros are perfect at any occasion! Our tummies were quite content!

The remainder of the evening was filled with music and dancing. But before we left, we took a family photo and placed it in their wedding book, wishing the couple a lifetime of love and happiness. This was certainly another memory we will always treasure.
