A convenient palette that contains all you need to Contour, Strobe, and Highlight your complexion.

My Review:

Been using it for a while now. Bought it when it was new on the market. Its now priced at half of what I paid for it. Comes in 4 creamy shades which blend beautifully. 2 contour, 1 highlight & 1 illuminator. For me its highlighter & illuminator are just fine but I like its contour shades the most. Light or Deep contour shades so that one can switch according to need & mood. Beauty-blender is my best buddy for this creamy formula. 2nd best contour after Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Match Stix Trio

Price  C$31.00

Size  0.17 oz/ 5 g

My Rating   ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

A highlighting balm that adds a gorgeous wet dewy glow to any skin-tone.

My Review:

If you love a natural dewy look then this product is for you. True to its name this dewy stix really makes your skin glow. Makeup or no makeup this thing really does the job. I was very skeptical about this product at first. Appeared more akin to a lip balm on first impressions but I’m glad it proved me wrong. This is one of those products which you may always want to keep handy. Not at all sticky, light as air & in my opinion underrated.

This product is available in 3 shades.

Glow – natural transparent

Lustre – pink iridescent

Gleam – gold opal

Reviewed – Cinderella Screwed Me Over by Cindi Madsen

Title  Cinderella Screwed Me Over

Author  Cindi Madsen

Genre Contemporary, Romance

My Rating   ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

The truth is, fairy-tale beginnings are easy. It’s what comes after that’s hard. Life doesn’t have a clean-cut ending.

Cindi Madsen ( Cinderella Screwed Me Over, Chapter: 35)

Book Description:

Darby Quinn has a bone to pick with Cinderella. Burned one too many times by ex-boyfriends, Darby has lost all belief in the happily-ever-after that the fairy-tale princess promised her. She’s sworn off love, Prince Charming’s, and happy endings and she’s happy about it. Really. Or at least she was…until she met Jake, her gorgeous neighbour and the manager of her favourite restaurant. But Darby has rules about dating, ones she’s culled from her years spent with so-called “princes,” and starting something with Jake would break all of them.

Charming, fun, and unwilling to give up on her, Jake doesn’t fit any of the profiles Darby has created from her case studies of ex-princes-gone-bad. Finally presented with her own Prince Charming, can Darby take a chance on a happily-ever-after?

Full of wit and sarcastic humor, Cinderella Screwed Me Over proves that sometimes the perfect love, like a perfect pair of shoes, is just within your grasp.

My Review:

Honestly read this book just because of its title. The storyline is exactly what one would expect from this genre, a girl, a boy, self-created misunderstandings or problems & eventually, the happy ending. What makes this book interesting is the way the writer has introduced ‘Disney’ princes or princesses as case studies. Dissecting all those love stories from our childhood to prove there is no such thing as true love but in the end giving us that very hope of finding that one in a million. If you have yet to find your prince charming then go give it a read. I’m sure Darby Quinn can guide you on what to look for 😉

Reviewed – Worth the Weight by Mara Jacobs

Title Worth the Weight

Author Mara Jacobs

Genre Contemporary, Romance

My Rating   ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

Her disregard for her body was like a black hole that she hadn’t seen herself falling into. When she was so deeply ensconced, she could see no way out.

Mara Jacobs ( Worth the Weight, Chapter: 16)

Book Description:

A new body. A new life. An old flame?

Lizzie Hampton is literally a shadow of her former self. Having lost half her body weight, she’s headed to her small hometown to test out her new body on an old flame. Just a harmless fling to get her self-confidence back before she returns to the city and the new man in her life.

But Lizzie’s plan has a few bumps in the road.

Finn Robbins can’t believe Liz is back in town. Desperate to be the holder of her innocence eighteen years ago, he never got the chance. Now she’s back and he can finally check her off his to do list. But her friends, his son, and the mysterious Annie may have something to say about that.

My Review:

Not much to say about this book as it was quite predictable. Not a bad read per se but there wasn’t anything new to the story to make it stand out. The only fact I liked about this piece is that it really reflects the raw emotions related to body image. The acceptance of ones true self & its effects on one’s self-esteem are explored. Read if you have time to spare.

Reviewed – The Secrets of Their Souls by Brooke Sivendra

Title The Secrets of Their Souls

Author Brooke Sivendra

Genre Romance, Thriller, Suspense

My Rating   ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Things that fall apart can never be put back together. We can try, and we do, but the cracks will always be there no matter how good a craftsman we are.

Brooke Sivendra ( The Secrets of Their Souls, Chapter: 22)

Book Description:

Zahra Foster is good at keeping secrets.

By day she is a high-powered hustler with an enviable career, while at night, in her dreams, she plays a deadly assassin. Tormented by the crimes she has witnessed, Zahra doesn’t tell anyone about her nightmares. But, when she meets her new boss, Mr. Jayce Tohmatsu, she soon realizes that they have more in common than just the company they work for, and that her dreams are the storytellers of her long-forgotten past.

Unable to resist the magnetic pull between them, Zahra and Jayce embark on an all-consuming and passionate affair–one that is built on love as well as lies. As Zahra’s dreams intensify, she will discover that she is not the only one keeping secrets, that the past is never truly forgotten and that all debts must be paid, one way or another.

My Review:

Strangely enough, protagonist or antagonist are the same person in this novel as this story revolves around reincarnation. Centred around strong characters with intricate weaves of past & present into the story line. One can find romance, thrill & suspense all in one here. I’d have personally preferred it to be a standalone storyline but it’s not apparently. Onto the second book in series to find out the truth of these characters..!
