Friends

Tea at the park

When you have found someone with whom you enjoy taking tea, then you will have found a friend for life.

-Earlene Grey

I believe one of life’s biggest blessings are friends.  And as my husband would say, it’s not quantity but quality.  I totally agree.  I’d rather have one close friend than a dozen part-timers.  Anyone who has gone through a challenging life experience knows the difference.

Good friends are those who have endured years of countless food and tea-related texts from me (even into the wee hours of the night) and actually respond to them!  You know who you are.  Even more, when I turned a significant age, which I will not specify, my friends surprised me with a wonderful tea at the park for my birthday.  Covid regulations had just started to ease and the weather was turning fine.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect day under the canopy of trees with friends, food and tea.

When I arrived at the park, my friends were chatting and setting up the food.  It had been so long since I had seen some of them in person! They went all out with white linens and real place settings. The only thing plastic were the water bottles.  The flowers were fresh and everyone contributed to the food display.

Who but friends would take the time to make an ordinary day extraordinary?  The food was enjoyable, the conversation was wonderful, the day -  priceless.  Thank you, friends.  Thank you for making another special memory for me.
